Megaplast PC15 additive is a mixture of an antifreeze complex based on inorganic sodium salts and a plasticizing complex based on polycarboxylate. It does not contain chloride ions or ammonia compounds. It does not interfere with the passive state of steel reinforcement in concrete.
The product has plasticizing properties and activates the curing process of the binder at subzero temperatures.
Applications
The main applications for the product "Use at subzero ambient temperatures" are:
Technical capabilities and advantages
Megaplast PC15 admixture can be used with all types of cement. High-activity cements are recommended for winter concreting.
Instructions for Use
Megaplast PC15 admixture is a ready-to-use product recommended for use at a rate of 0.8-2.0% of the liquid admixture's weight relative to the cement. It is preferable to add the admixture to the concrete mix along with the mixing water. It is also advisable to ensure sufficient mixing time after adding the admixture. Preheated materials are used for concrete production; the water temperature should not exceed 700°C. The maximum temperature of the concrete mix leaving the mixer should not exceed 350°C. The recommended temperature of the concrete mix during placement is at least +100°C. Freshly placed concrete must be protected from heat and moisture loss. Freezing of the concrete is permitted once it has reached at least 20% of its design strength.
The optimal dosage is determined empirically. The dosage of the additive depends significantly on the properties of the raw materials, particularly the phase and mineralogical composition of the cement, its amount in the concrete mix, and the range of subzero temperatures.
For long-term storage, sparging is required!
